Dec 05, 14 Dadstractions 63: Yippy!

This week on the Dadstractions podcast:

  • Thanksgiving!
  • Brian and the kids watch The Phantom Menace
  • Leonard impresses Brian with all of his Star Wars knowledge.
  • A remembrance of shows of Fox’s past.
  • Objects in the mirror may appears bigger than they are.

Leonard F Chikarason is a professional podcaster, pro-wrestling commentator, avid comic book reader, happily married father and  friend of Brian, who runs this very blog! You can find everything LFC is up to (Twitter, podcasts, and personal appearances) at and

Brian Edsell is a father of two and trying to raise them the only way he knows how: like nerds. He’s the webmaster over at Longbox Heroes and also a big fat loud mouth who can also be heard on the Prodigal Sons Podcast.

  • Ok, I listened in the car but here’s my thoughts on what I remember.

-First off, the fact you mentioned MXC makes me happier than you can imagine. I loved that show when it was on. And I know exactly what you mean about the Spike TV Star Wars/Kill Bill rotation, Leonard. Although they have backed off of that a bit now that they have more original program. Including some construction show featuring some guy with a podcast.

-I’m always fascinated by discussion about the prequels, especially Phantom Menace. Obviously the majority is negative, but it’s always interesting. Also, have either of you heard about the Machete Order of watching the films? Definitely something for Leonard to think about for when Asa is ready to watch them. And I still think a group podcast when Episode VII comes out would be a ton of fun.

-Loved the FOX discussion, though I was young enough that my parents didn’t let me watch most of them when they started. Except for Married with Children. I got to catch that occasionally. WOLF-TV was our FOX affliliate as well, so I remember it not actually calling itself FOX. But, it did show TNG in syndication so it was easily my favorite channel.

    Looking forward to next week!

  • Thanks for the shout-out, Brian!
